Design and Technology

At HCFS we aim for children to become creative and resilient learners, by completing a range of design and technology projects. During our project learning, the pupils have the opportunity to develop their designing and making skills through planned design and technology sessions.  We intend for children to be able to take risks in these sessions and develop their innovation when solving real and relevant problems. When completing these lessons we wish for children to use technical vocabulary and evaluate their work throughout the designing process.

Our project curriculum is taught on a two year rota and pupils will complete design and technology projects within the year groups. In Year A, the pupils will also get to experience Let's Make It Week, where they have the opportunity to complete a range of food, sustainability, designing and making tasks. This is a great chance for the pupils to really express their creativity and take design risks.
