Computing at HCFS

At Hatfield Community Free School, we prepare each child for a technological world in which they will be able to use different tools to access knowledge. They will learn how to determine the accuracy of information and how to keep themselves safe from harm and misinformation. Online safety takes high priority, we take every opportunity in computing to make sure that all children know who to talk to for support and how to protect themselves.

Our computer science curriculum is broad and balanced, ensuring children are able to make progress each year in the knowledge and skills needed to use software. See the Computing Overview below. Our lessons are well resourced with iPads, chromebooks, microbits, crumble controllers, motors, LED bulbs, beebots, sound buttons and more.
