This may take several minutes. Once the processing is complete, the video will be shown here.

Phonics happen in Reception and Year One every day for 30 minutes.
At HCFS we follow a scheme that has been written specifically for our own children, which combines the systematic structure of letters and sounds, with the engaging actions of jolly phonics.
All of our Phonics lessons follow the below format;

Revisit and Review: This is where we recap everything we have learnt previously
Teach: This is where we learn something new - either a new phoneme and grapheme, a new tricky or high frequency word, or an alternative way of spelling a grapheme or pronouncing a phoneme.
Practice: This is where we get the opportunity to showcase how good we are at our sounds!
Apply: This is where we take the new skill we have learnt and put it in to a wider concept, showing we can apply our new knowledge.
