EYFS Reception is the first year that a child starts school with us.
The classes in Reception are:
In Autumn 2 we are starting a new theme. This theme is called ‘Teddy Goes Travelling’. The children will be focusing on Geography throughout this theme. Each week they will be looking at a different country and learning all about it such as landmarks, food, and currency. To hook the children in this learning; Teddy will be sending a picture of himself around different landmarks to introduce the country each week.
On Monday we will be starting our new theme ‘All Aboard.’
During this theme the children will be learning about different types of transport such as cars and trains.
We will be looking into the history of each transport, talking about how the transport has changed over the years and when they were first invented.
This theme also gives the children the opportunity to be creative where they will design and make their own vehicles.
From Monday we begin our fantastic theme of Let’s Discover. This covers ‘All about me’ and ‘All about my family’.
This is great for teachers to get to know the children and their families. The children will take part in a variety of exciting and interactive activities. The children will have so much fun! Above you will find the theme web for this theme. This explains what the children will be learning about for the duration of the theme as well skills and core subjects of mathematics and Literacy.
Every theme will have its very own theme homework. This is a chance for the children to be creative and make or do something with their family to share in school.
This half term the homework project is:
Can you create a family tree? You could draw pictures, write names, stick photos or anything else you like!
The homework is due in on Monday 16th October. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding the homework.
I look forward to seeing many creative projects
